Orchard Place Elementary School students went on an exciting journey through the night sky without even leaving the building!

Mobile Ed Productions brought their SkyDome Planetarium to the Orchard Place gymnasium for an out of this world experience.

Through digital projection inside the inflatable dome, the students learned about the Earth's solar system, the space program, the constellations and even black holes.

As the students entered the dome they were greeted by their "navigator."

The navigator took the students on board a rocket ship which would "launch" them into space.

As they started their journey, the students were amazed by how the Earth looked from above.

The first thing the students saw in the night sky were constellations, and the navigator explained what they were and how, if using a bit of imagination, can resemble the shape of animals.

Moving farther away from Earth they saw a black hole and then all of the planets that make up our solar system.

The students visited the sun, which they saw looked like molten lava up close.

After flying by all of the planets, with a quick stop on Mars to see the rover, their rocket detached from it's base and they landed on the moon.

It was then time to star their journey back to Earth.

The students had an amazing time visiting space and learning about the planets and our solar system up close.
