Orchard Place
Orchard Place Elementary School is committed to strengthening the field of education and is currently hosting three student teachers this semester!
Student teaching is a required, full-time, supervised 14-16 week experience that helps candidates develop teaching skills and gain practical experience.
This year Ms. Toledo is placed with Mrs. Pelleymounter in 1st grade, Ms. Vander Klok is placed with Mr. Bultema in 2nd grade and Ms. Ramirez is placed with Mrs. Bevis in 3rd grade.
Ms. Toledo recently spent time going over counting and math problems with the first graders. They also studied a clock and counted pennies, nickels and dimes.
In Ms. Vander Klok's second grade class the students had to read a story and find words with the "our" sound in it.
Rescue dogs were the topic of conversation in Ms. Ramirez's third grade room.
Orchard Place Principal Ms. Jennifer Bautista said, "The cooperating teacher plays a vital role in student teaching, guiding and supporting the student teacher's professional development and practical application of teaching skills."
