Parking & Traffic Safety

• Students will be assigned (by class or by grade) a designated door from which to enter. Students can begin to arrive to school at 8:45AM in the back of the school building (east side) 

• Students will enter the building at the designated door and walk directly to their classrooms at the sound of the bell (8:55AM). 

• Students will enter their classrooms by 9:00AM. 

Parents must sign in their children in the front office if they arrive at 9:00AM. Students will not be permitted to enter through any other entrance if they arrive at 9:00AM.

(Students should arrive no earlier than 8:45 a.m.)

• Each ‘walker’ should proceed to the door entrance specified by grade level 

  • Door 8 (play circle) for Kindergarten & 1st grade

  • Door 6 (cafeteria) for 2nd & 3rd grade 

  • Door 5 (receiving area) for 4th & 5th grade 

• Parents/guardians who come to school and wish to wait with their students on the concrete area in the back of the school building (east side) must park their cars in a designated parking spot in our parking lots or using street parking 

• Students will line up at their assigned door. Parents/guardians will not be allowed to enter the building via these entrances

• Pets are not permitted on school property

• Assigned seating may be used and siblings are encouraged to sit together

• If the students have a district-assigned safety harness, the adult in the vehicle will secure them

• Parent(s)/guardian(s) will not be allowed in the vehicle
• Parent(s)/guardian(s) will be directed to contact First Student for transportation-related issues or questions, including situations in which the bus is late or a student misses the bus

• Students will be assigned (by class or by grade) a designated door from which to exit at 3:15PM (Monday) or 3:30PM (Tuesday-Friday)

• Students will exit the building as a classroom with their teacher and wait until the arrival of a parent/guardian, or other designee(s) identified by the parent/guardian in communication with the front office. 
• If an early dismissal is required, this must be communicated to the front office directly. Students will not be dismissed early from school after 3:00PM on Monday or 3:15PM on Tuesday-Friday. Early dismissals must occur before those times.

(Parents should arrive by 3:15 PM on Monday and 3:30 PM Tuesday-Friday)

Any student that is awaiting a pick-up or that is walking home (optional for 4th &5th grade) will be dismissed through a designated door

• Students will be walked to the building exit by a staff member

  • Door 5 (receiving area) for 5th grade 
• Parents/guardians who come to school to meet their students must park their cars in a designated parking spot in our parking lots or using street parking and wait for their student(s) on the concrete area in the back of the school building (east side) 
• Parents/guardians must be visible to the teacher and student(s), in order for the student(s) to be released from their teacher’s care
• Parent/guardian(s) will not be allowed to enter the building via these entrances
• Pets are not permitted on school property

• Orchard Place staff members will walk children to the district transportation 
• Assigned seating may be used and siblings are encouraged to sit together
• If the students have a district-assigned safety harness, the adult in the vehicle will secure them
• Parent/guardians of kindergarten students must meet the district transportation service to accept the child
• Parent(s)/guardian(s) will be directed to contact First Student for transportation-related issues or questions, including situations in which the bus is late
